Experience
Middle Haw
Guided Class II whitewater on the Haw River with 2-3 hour scenic kayaking adventure.

About this experience
Experience the Haw River’s whitewater beauty on a guided kayaking trip through a scenic stretch with roaring rapids and volcanic rock carved by rushing water. This 2–3 hour journey starts below the Bynum dam and ends at the Highway 64 bridge, offering a superb setting for learning paddling skills or enjoying a beautiful day on the river. The run features numerous Class I & II rapids in a sparsely developed landscape, making it ideal for both learning and seasoned paddlers alike.
The adventure is water level dependent, with conditions best when the gage reads 500–2000 cfs. Whether you bring your own whitewater boat or rent a single-seater sit-on-top kayak, you’ll be guided by one to two guides, with at least one CPR and First Aid certified.
